MILVUE REWARDED : THE NORTH JUTLAND REGION OF DENMARK WINS DANISH INNOVATION AWARD WITH OUR AI FOR FRACTURE DETECTION.

In early March 2024, the North Denmark Region won the Danish Digitalization Award, named the “Innovation Prize.” This recognition was awarded due to the use of Milvue’s solution in their clinics and hospitals, in the emergency department.

As our partner, Human Bytes explains, the motivation for the award was “It is also emphasized that the solution has delivered tangible results in a short time, underscoring its value and importance in a pressured healthcare system. The project’s potential for dissemination and scalability ensures that its impact can reach far beyond its initial implementation, making it a worthy winner of the Innovation Award.”

Deployed in all treatment centers in the North Denmark Region (Region Nordjylland), nearly 30,000 exams have been analyzed since the summer of 2023. This is the case of Aalborg University Hospital , which has significantly reduced waiting times in the emergency department thanks to the use of Milvue’s AI to evaluate bone fractures. Our AI is used in all clinics and emergency departments in the North Denmark Region, benefiting approximately 52,000 patients per year. Our solution evaluates X-ray images and can determine with 95-98% accuracy whether there is a fracture or not.

Thanks to its fast and accurate evaluation, doctors and nurses can make decisions more quickly and provide faster care to patients. This also reduces pressure on healthcare personnel by improving their working conditions.

In addition to reducing waiting times, our AI has also reduced the number of complaints and compensation claims following an incorrect evaluation.

As Dr. Christian Pedersen explains, “This new solution significantly improves our work processes, treatment quality, waiting times, and working environment. But it is never autonomous. There is always a person behind our diagnoses and treatment plans.

Our AI does not replace radiologists, it makes them irreplaceable.
